How to Create a Learning Plan
Turn your unit's Curriculum and Occupational Standards into a complete, term-long Learning Plan in the Ministry or KSTVET template.
Before you start
- Get the Curriculum and Occupational Standards (OS) for the specific unit. The free Download CU/OS page in the sidebar helps you find them.
- Save them as DOCX if you can. Word files keep their tables, so units, outcomes and criteria are read accurately. PDF and clear photos (JPG, PNG) also work.
- Know your class details: weeks in the term, lessons per week and the days your class meets.
Step by step
Choose the reporting template
Pick Ministry Recommended or KSTVET Template, whichever your institution submits.
Upload the Curriculum and Occupational Standards
Click each upload box and choose the file. A pop-up shows what was read: the unit name and code, plus the learning outcomes (Curriculum) or the elements with performance criteria (OS). Correct the unit name or code right there, or click Upload a Different File if the wrong one went in.
Fill in Personnel & Class Info
Trainer, trainees, class, level, term, weeks, lessons per week and class days. The unit title and code are already filled in from your upload.
Open Plan Settings (optional)
Choose single or per-week output and set the assessment weeks.
Click "Generate Learning Plan (KES 40)"
A summary appears: unit, template, output, weeks, lessons and uploaded files. Click Continue, or Change / Edit to fix something.
Pay with M-Pesa
Approve the prompt on your phone (see Paying with M-Pesa). Generation takes about a minute.
Preview and download
Check the plan, then Download DOCX, Download ZIP (All Weeks) for per-week output, or Print.

Plan Settings (More Options)
Paying with M-Pesa
Nothing is charged until you click Generate. A window titled "Unlock Learning Plan" opens on the same page, so you never leave CBET Planner to pay.
Enter your M-Pesa number
The +254 prefix is already filled in. Type the rest, e.g.
712345678.Tap "Pay KES 40"
An M-Pesa prompt (STK push) reaches your phone within a few seconds.
Enter your M-Pesa PIN
Stay on the page. It detects the payment by itself and starts generating your Learning Plan. Tap Check Now to check straight away, or Try Payment Again if no prompt arrived.
Paid but no document?
Click "Already paid but didn't get your document?" on the payment window and enter the M-Pesa code from your confirmation SMS (e.g. TGH5J8K2L9).
- One code = one document. A code can never generate a second document.
- If the code hasn't produced a document yet, it generates it now, at no extra charge.
- If it already did, you get a redownload link to that same file, up to 3 times within 3 days of it being generated.
- A code only works on the page for the document type it paid for.
You can also recover by code any time from My Documents.
